TARI CALMCACIL
{Tah-Ree Calm-Sah-Sill}
Born a little over three thousand years ago, Tari is a witch whose homeland is the dark forests of Mirkwood. Frequently she travels to other areas and seems to just come and go as she pleases. Tari is a soft spoken individual, but no less dangerous than the next person. She prefers 'charmer' over witch, as she does just more than create poisons and antidotes, but has a knack for imbuing magical properties onto items, if the right resources and reasons are given. For most of her life she has lived in Mirkwood, but has kin in Lothlorien that she enjoys visiting. Humans fascinate her at times and she envies how much they accomplish in such a tiny lifespan. Dwarves are a little misty, as she's only met a handful of them in her life time and was met with brashness, rudeness, and even fear when her occupation was learned of. There's no outright hate, but there is some tension. Halflings or Hobbits are a curiosity altogether, and she's not seen any recently. She's had no inclination to cross the mountains to explore the shire or what might lie beyond it. The cities of men, however, have been visited when her services have been asked for.
Tari is graceful and lean like the rest of her kin and gets along fairly well with them. Her father was the Captain of the Guard for a long stretch of time for the royal family that ruled Mirkwood, while her mother was a witch as well. Her abilities lied in potions, a skill she passed onto Tari as she grew older. She does have a witches broom to fly, but that's rarely used and only at night. The last thing she wants is to be shot down by a stray arrow.
Tari's personality meshes well with most of those around her. With the quiet grace of the elves and soft spoken nature, she's pleasant to be around and even relaxing. She works hard and tries her best to keep her word, though sometimes that is impossible. She's a non-confrontational sort of person but very playful once you get to know her. Teasing is her way of showing affection, and she'd give her left arm or her life for you. She hopes that it doesn't come to extreme measures like those, but there you go.
Both her mother and father had multiple siblings in Lothlorien and Mirkwood. It's possible to have family anywhere! The more the merrier! <3
Tari has never had a full blown physical lover. She was engaged for a long time to a family friend when she was younger, perhaps sixteen in human years, but she found that she was more comfortable with him as a friend then as a future life mate. She takes things like that very seriously. She's had affairs of the heart, but not really the body. It doesn't mean she's dead though.
She's a witch, that alone has gotten her some rather nasty looks. She can't breathe fire and she's never done a life altering or threatening hex on another person, but she does have some magic, and it is dangerous. The unknown makes people fearful, so she rarely advertises that she is a witch. She prefers enchanter or charmer, because that's where her skills lie. But she is what she is, and is of the elven race. A lot of people don't like one or the other, and combined it's sure to make some people annoyed or antsy.
