Yes! I am calling for hobbits! Being as my character was just recently accepted I am calling out for all you hobbity types to help me with a little plot. A long time ago I was on an excellent Lord of the Rings site playing my character Hammurabi's first incarnation with a very excellent group of people. Before the site dwindled and died we began an interesting little plot where a group of Hobbits found my character in an old trappers pit dug to capture boars. Being as he's a man of rather untrustworthy look it started a lovely and interesting debate about whether they should help him out or not and what should be done about him if they DID help him out. Basically it was just a really fun and dynamic intro that never came to be... I would really like to do some variation of it here on this site and would love it if a few of you were interested in rping it out with me as my Intro post.

Hi!
Of course, Samwise is a canon - so I cannot move too far away from the main plot with him. But I find the idea funny of a bunch of hobbits finding a trapped stranger. I certainly would like Sam to be one of this bunch. As far as I know him - I haven't played him for long yet - Sam would be thrilled to finally get out of the every day boredom, to some degree he certainly would be hoping for an adventure. But I also think that he'll be torn in between trusting and mistrusting Hammurabi.

This idea seems interesting. I think that Frodo would probably want to help the stranger since he's got more knowledge about the other races of Middle Earth, so he wouldn't be as suspicious as most hobbits. So yeah, Frodo could also be part of the bunch that finds him I think.

MUAHAHA! I have TWO hobbits! Do I hear a four? Anyway, moving on. I cant imagine this would be to much of a departure from plot all things considered, I mean it's not like Frodo has the ring and Hammurabi is trying to steal it. More what I was thinking is that Hammurabi being inexperienced with inland travel has wandered into the territorial area of the shire, fallen into an old boar-trap dug by hobbits or manish hunters and has been trapped down in it for a night and half a day, cold as the pit is up to his waist in water and certainly angry. The hobbits or small group of hobbits stumble across him or hear his cries for help and after investigation and conversation the debate i mentioned earlier starts up. It would just be a good way to get some RP in before the ring leaves the shire, set up basis for possible future interaction and just generally provide me a target-rich... Errr... RP target rich environment to work in. Also... You'd get to RP with a corsair! How often does THAT happen. So firm yes from both Sam and Frodo?

Yep, definitely a firm yes for Sam. With Frodo there, he'll probably be even more cautious and suspicious toward Hammurabi.

YAY! I have a post written up, just waiting for approval from an adminy type before I post it. Like I said, even If I cant imagine it affecting the plot in some way, when dealing with cannons I like to make sure.
