The VOCALOID program, a computer program known for creating digital idols with a variety of songs. The programs created by this, known as Vocaloids inhabit a virtual mirror of Tokyo, Japan, a place for them to live between songs.
….Or that was the case, until now. A program file known as “Evolution.mp3” surfaced on the internet, as an add-on to the VOCALOID program. This program's purpose was unknown, until it was activated, creating a physical copy of the Vocaloid, later termed as “Vocals,” in the real world. While these Vocals are still computer programs, they can interact with the physical world, along with the ability to convert objects to data and travel to the digital version of Tokyo, where most Vocaloids live. However, this program wasn't without it's downsides....
When the file was accessed on a computer that had any type of virus, malware, or the like, the program goes awry, creating what is essentially a “dark version” of the intended Vocaloid, with decidedly ill intentions. These versions, called “Viraloids,” have the ability to infect Vocals and Vocaloids, causing them to need a full reformat, which removes their memory. Though there are rumors of an anti-virus being made, no such thing has surfaced.
And finally, the topic of most rumors is where Evolution.mp3 came from, the source code for all Vocaloids, romanticized as “The Ultimate Data.” As it's existence is confirmed more and more, it becomes obvious that the search is on, with everyone having their own motivation for finding this Ultimate Data.
Vocaloids, Vocals, Utaus, Fanmades, Viraloids, even humans....no matter which world they're on, they're all heading for the goal....
