GÁRULF FOLCWINE*

Gárulf has always been a charming guy. Ever since he was a little boy he has gotten his way with flashing a stunning smile and blink innocently with his hazel eyes. He does not hesitate with using his charms on everyone – even men who he is not sexually interested in, but he is all about making a good impression on people. Of course his charms are different towards each sex. He is flirtatious around women and around men he is more of a joker and a confident brave guy. Gárulf wants to be liked by everyone and sometimes he may come on a bit too strongly. He does not like getting denied something and he usually does not take no for an answer. He is very ambitious and everytime he gets an idea in his head, he wants to live it out to the fullest. He cannot rest before this is done.

Gárulf is the oldest brother of two. He is the confident, charming and responsible older brother who cannot seem to grow up. He and his younger brother Fengel are like day and night. Despite Fengel this young man likes to fight, he is athletic and is good around people. It is quite obvious that his younger brother looks up to him and Gárulf knows that. He enjoys being the “popular” one of those two and usually jokes around Fengel who is a very easy target to Gárulf’s pranks. He cannot help to tease his younger brother a little bit – he is not quiet by nature like Fengel is and he likes to refer to their sheep as Fengel’s girlfriends. It has always been like that between the boys – even though the age difference is quite big between them.

Gárulf considers himself as a humoristic person. He makes good jokes and he usually makes people laugh by telling some of the many stories he has. He is not a man who always tells the truth, however the lies he tells are usually small white ones that are quite insignificant. The man is often in a very good mood and when he speaks he cannot help using a lot of sarcasm – which is his trademark. He laughs at people who do not understand him however he is not rude enough to roll his eyes at them. Though sometimes he cannot help to come with a comment if the sarcasm was too obvious to not understand. It is rarely you seen Gárulf depressed. He has either very high spirit or is extremely mad about something. Only his really beloved ones can make him sad and depressed, however like all men, he has a hard time with tears.

Gárulf is very brave and adventurous. When he was old enough he could not wait to get out of home and experience the world. He was actually in Edoras – improving his horseback riding skills when he discovered his passion for warfare and battle. Actually when he rides to war, he does not ride to defend his beloved ones, he rides for glory, adventure and to swing his sword as something. Of course, at time that will change, but now – as he is still young (he thinks he is, despite his 30’s), he cannot get enough of the adrenaline rushes he gets in a fight. Gárulf’s weapon of choice is not a sword. It is daggers – and he likes to duel wield them. He is quite good with his two daggers and his damage per second is very high compared to when he uses a sword.

Even though he likes to be free and away from his parents, Gárulf is still his mother’s boy. When he is in the area he often comes home to a good meal and to greet his family. He has never been a farmer like his parents and his younger brother – he was too hyperactive for that when he was younger, however he still loves the animals his family works with and of course he helps when he is around. When he is at home he is often trying to convince Fengel to join the Rohirrim Riders, however he often fails since his brother is not interested in war or being a soldier. Unlike his brother he has not the need for adventure – or if he has, it is for an adventure not far away from home. The Folcwine family is the only family Gárulf has. His flirtatious attitude has placed a lot of women under his sheets, however none of them have stayed there for long. Even though he is 30 years old, the man is not thinking about getting his own family with a wife and children.
